T'nalak Festival

Nestled in the heart of South Cotabato, Koronadal along with nine other municipalities blessed with fertile plains and scenic spots celebrated the spectacles and splendors of T'nalak Festival last July 18, 2008.
The said festival officially started on the 12th of July where dwellers came to witness the torch parade and started to enjoy the dances and yells in the streets. For almost a week of celebration, South Cotabatenos were joined by guests, celebreties and tourists in witnessing varios events like the search or pageant night, choir competition, band and drum corps and a basketball game with the stars.
The highlight of the said festival is the street dancing with the participants in their bright and colorful cotumes accented with T'nalak cloth. The participants bravely faced the heat of the sun cheering as they roam around Gensan Drive with the grand concluding performance at SMRAA to their heart's delight. It was a competition between municipalities- the best will be hailed as the champion.
The desire and enjoyment in the faces of the people simply showed that the festival is said to be an entertaining one. The grand and intricate fireworks display was the most awaited event of the festival. Colorful and different scenes hovered the sky that made the spectators to smile.
